Stuart lands the big trout

A LOT of the big fish are being hooked at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore with 13 year old Stuart Sinnamon, Blackskull, hooking into a lovely 9lb6 trout on the main lake.

Stuart was fishing his own tying of a blob to beat his own personal best weight and went on to release another five trout. Clive and William McCartney, Crumlin, fished the lake for the first time and went home happy after both experiencing the strong fighting big fish on the main lake.

Clive landing a 9lb 8 trout and a 7lb 4 trout both on the egg fly on the main lake while William released a 8lb 8 trout also on a egg fly.

Lurgan men Eddie Haddock and Stephen Dorran were also fishing egg flys on the main lake to have a good days craic with Eddie releasing a total of 11 trout and Stephen releasing nine trout, one of which weighed in at 13lb.

The next competitions will be on Easter Monday on the main lake and a Junior Competition on Good Friday on the Hollow Springs lake.
