Stuart stays on top of table

YOUTH riders had a great day out at the eighth round of the Ulster Trials Championship at Dechomet where weather conditions on the mountainside were perfect.

It was hosted by Banbridge and District MCC which covers the Craigavon area in off road trials and has an expanding youth division.

In the Youth A Class Waringstown rider Stuart Hanlon, who is currently leading the Ulster and Irish Championship board, had an other good performance to finish in second place which keeps him top on the Championship table.

Twin brothers from Lurgan, Ashley and Kyle Turner, competing in Youth B Class, had one of their best performances of the season. Ashley was joint first with Stuart McClurg from Bangor but lost out on the tie break decision and had to settle for second place on the day, leaving him in second on the points table. Kyle had a solid result taking a fifth place which keeps him established in the points table.

Meanwhile Michelle Hanlon, an A level student at Lurgan College who rides Adult Class D, having recently taken delivery of a new 250cc Beta, seems to be adopting well to the new bike, taking a third place in Wexford at the sixth round of the Irish Championship.

With only three rounds left in the Ulster Championship, and the season closing in March, Stuart and Ashley are hoping to stay at the top of the points table.
