Stuart wins the Watson Memorial

SATURDAY saw this year's annual Robert Watson Memorial Competition take place at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore.

Stuart McMurran, Dromore took first place taking home a lovely Snowbee Rod aswell as the trophy with his bag of four trout weighing in at 12lb 4 which included a nice trout of 5lb 12.

Stuart was fishing his own fly patterns which included a daddy long legs on the top of the water to take the trophy.

Second place went to Neville Gibson, Dromore with his four trout tipping the scales at 10lb 12 while third place went to Blackskull man Paul Sinnamon with his bag of four trout weighin in at 9lb4.

Paul's son Matthew took the prize for the heaviest trout caught.

The next competition is the start of the winter league on Saturday 30 October. This year's league will have a total prize fund of over 800 with a first prize of 400.
