Success for Taekwondo Club members

A TEAM of five individuals from Lisburn Taekwondo Club made up part of the Northern Ireland team that travelled to Seixal, Portugal for the 2012 Portuguese Taekwondo Open over the weekend of November 3 and 4.

The event was attended by talented players from countries across Europe and competition for medals was fierce. For some this was the first international level competition and everyone did extremely well. Team NI set a new personal record, with every player being awarded at least one medal. This remarkable result is a testament to the dedication and determination of both our players and coaches.

Students from Lisburn Taekwondo Club had a great weekend at the championships with a total of 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Lisburn Taekwondo Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Sport Lisburn for their generous financial support. Participating in international competitions is an excellent opportunity for development and gives the players a great deal of confidence – without funding the club would be unable to do this.
