Summer cups under way

Brown Trout Golf

THE weekend competition at the Brown Trout was the first of the summer cups with the members reverting back to their proper handicaps after the temporary cuts in the Winter League and sweeps held since Christmas.

The winner Gary Hamilton (21) with a fantastic score of 24 points each nine for a grand total of 48 points giving him a clear eight point margin over the runner-up Michael Kane (19) with 18 points after nine, he added 22 for a good score of 40 points.

Third prize went to Maurice Torrington (13) who opened with 21 before adding 18 for a final tally of 39 points.

Tom Boyd scooped the twos kitty with the only two scored in the competition with his last shot in his round at the 18th.

Next weekend the competition will be for the O’Neill Cup played in medal format.
