Sun shines on schools’ GAA events

In perfect conditions for school sport the Allianz Antrim Seven a Side finals took place at All saints GAC, Ballymena recently.

Football, Hurling and Camogie titles were up for grabs and the action began with a well contested Camogie final between St. Mary’s PS Portglenone and St Brigid’s PS Cloughmills with the Portglenone girls winning on a 6 points to 2 points scoreline.

Next up were the Hurlers from St Patrick’s PS Loughgiel and Mt St Michael’s PS Randalstown. Quick out of the blocks the boys from Loughgiel took the early initiative scoring two quick goals. The Mt St Michael’s boys pegged the score back with 2 points of their own.

This spurred the Loughgiel boys on and they scored a further goal and 4 points to the Randalstown boys 2 additional points leaving St Patrick’s as winners this year.

The boys’ football final was a three way affair between St Mary’s Portglenone, St Joseph’s Dunloy and St Patrick’s Loughgiel with the day belonging to St Mary’s PS Portglenone who won both of their games and took the title back to the banks of The Bann.
