Super South 2s secure another three points

South Antrim Seconds maintained their unbeaten record in Junior Two this season with a thrilling 3-2 win over Annadale at Friends School.

While the performance was not as dominant as the previous outing against Harlequins, it was still enough to ensure all three points for the third time in four outings.

South controlled this game for long periods without turning the possession into goals with too many passes going astray at vital moments.

The deadlock was broken after 20 minutes when a Mark Conn shot was deflected past the Annadale goalkeeper. Within minutes, Annadale had drawn level when a break on the left allowed the forward to reverse hit a strong shot past Ashley Sloan in the South goal.

The second half saw South pick the tempo up and the play was almost entirely in the Annadale half. A number of short corners brought no reward for the home team.

Eventually some good approach play found John Semple in the circle who produced a trademark reverse stick shot to give the in-form Annadale goalkeeper no chance from close range.

A third goal followed shortly after for South when the impressive Semple found Craig Campbell in the circle, where he finished in style on the volley to claim his first goal of the season.

Annadale added a consolation goal with almost the last action of the match. Overall, this was a deserved win for the Lisburn team with some notable performances from John Semple and Willie Redpath Jnr in particular.
