Sweeney signs for 'Stute

The Waterside man will go straight into John Gregg's side for Monday's clash with Carrick Rangers.

For Gregg he's thrilled to have got his man and he's happy that his youngful squad is starting to get some more experience.

"I'm over the moon to have signed Vinny, as everyone knows I have been working on trying to get him tied down for a number of weeks, so thankfully now all the paper work is done.

"Vinny's a quality player and his experience up front will prove vital for us. He can also play in a number of other positions and he's already itching for the Carrick game."

Incidentally that Ladbrokes.com Championship match against Carrick, at Drumahoe, will kick-off at 8pm.
