Sweep results from across the course

SUNDAY MAY 9 - This proved to be a rewarding competition for Eamon McAnarney.

Not only did he win first prize but he also split the twos pot with Stephen Orr.

1st, Eamon McAnarney (13) Nett 31.5; 2nd, Jonathan Burns (6) Nett 33; 3rd, Alex Clarke (12) Nett 33.

MONDAY MAY 10 - It is not often that a score less than 30 points features in the prizes for a 14 holes sweep.

Granted it was very cold and windy on Monday but Shane Bell will consider himself very fortunate to finish in the top spot.

1st, Shane Bell (8) 29 points; 2nd, Ross McCandless (7) 29.

THURSDAY MAY 13 - This was the third of the Thursday Open Stableford competitions played over 18 holes.

The number of entries continues to rise each week. A total of 38 golfers played in this one and that’s good.

John Convery, a star player on the Junior Cowdy Cup team, was the winner with 43 points, the equivalent of a nett 62. He has been cut to a 17 handicap and currently off the Junior Cowdy team.

He may go back up to 18 and he may not. I suspect the latter. It was a brilliant round of golf and congratulations to him.

1st, John Convery (18) 43; 2nd, Ian Livingstone (12) 42; 3rd, Trevor Mulholland (11) 41; 4th, Ian Magowan (14) 40. Best gross: Alastair McCully 70.
