Swifts really spoil Ambassadors day out

ON Saturday Rathfriland Swifts hosted unbeaten Ambassadors in a league fixture at Iveagh Park and but for numerous injuries could well have went on to be the first team to have defeated the visitors in the league this season.

Rathfriland started well with Mark Milligan thumping the post from an angle and then raced into a 2–0 lead through Stevie Parsons and Michael Morgan slotting home with neat finishes.

The game could have been all over at 3–0 had Micky Morgan`s lob not been collected by the `keeper but Ambassadors came back into it with two quick goals after Ratfriland lost their shape and composure with three players picking up injuries before half time.

The second half was mostly Ambasadors but Rathfriland defended well to hold out for the draw and be only the third team to take points off them this season so far.
