Tables turn in six-goal cup encounter

Banbridge Town U12s 5

Dromara Village U12 1

THIS Cup match started with Banbridge being unable to get to grips with the Dromara midfield at all.

Dromara played some nice football for the first 15 minutes and Banbridge found it difficult to get the ball and play their normal passing game.

However in the 20th minute Aaron Thompson broke the deadlock after running onto a pass from Callum Adamson with a well taken goal.

Dromara tried to level the game but they couldn’t get past the safe hands of Stuart Wilson, the Banbridge keeper.

The Banbridge team scored again on 33 minutes when Thompson ran onto a through ball again. This time he ran past the Dromara defence and rounded the keeper before slotting the ball home.

Banbridge started the second half on the attack again with Adamson and Thompson coming closest on a few occasions.

Aaron became provider for the third Banbridge goal when he ran down the right wing to cross the ball in for Callum, who easily beat the Dromara keeper.

The fourth Banbridge goal came from a lovely pass along the Dromara penalty box by Kyle Thompson to Daire McCluskey. He met the ball side on to lob the ball up and over the stranded Dromara keeper.

Ryan scored the fifth with a beautiful glancing header from an Aaron cross into the penalty box.

Dromara were awarded a penalty in the last minute of the game after Brian Johnston was penalised for tugging on the shirt of a Dromara forward. The penalty was scored impressively by Dromara.

Special mention goes to Aaron Thompson for a great all round performance and Stuart Wilson for a doing a sterling job in the Banbridge goals.
