Taggart pleased with team

Ballymoney coach Jason Taggart was pleased with his side’s performance on Saturday against UUC.

He said after the game: “It was great to get Aaron Ramage and Alex Houston back into the lineup as we are starting now to get some of the long term injured players back.

“Nigel Nevin and Danny Platt both hurt their shoulder but with a bit of physio I hope they will be available to be considered for selection.

“UUC played well today and had a good organised defence.

“This was the first Saturday where we had to play in these conditions and it was a good test for the team.

“We started off slow today but we improved in the second half and took the game to UUC.

“The forwards played well and showed some good maturity to shut the game out and play in the UUC half towards the end of the game.

“We kept the ball well and both teams’ discipline was good which meant the game was very competitive.

“We will have to up our performance again before we play Donaghadee this Saturday if we are to come away with the win, but with a good week’s training and everyone fit I believe we will have a good chance.”
