Team Biesty’s Laverty lands win on the A26

BCC Biesty’s Centra Racing Team have now hit 10 wins in 7 days and have also landed a gold medal-winning Northern Ireland Champion into the bargain.

Junior rider Stuart Laverty won the 25 TT championships on the A26 between Ballymena and Antrim whilst Jordan McCaw romped to victory in round 5 of the Inter-club League at Tobermore.

On the A26 there were 54 starters but Stuart Laverty had been in preparation for this event for some time was in good form and looking forward to at least getting on the podium, missing out earlier in the season in the Team Time Trial when the team finished 4th.

Stuart, who recently got a silver medal at the Ulster 10 TT championships at Greysteel, was delighted to be able to go one better and land the first Championship medal for the team this season. Stuart’s time for 25 miles was 54mins and 55 seconds.

Jordan McCaw romped to victory at Tobermore in Round 5 of the 6 club season long series of road races. Going into the last lap the BCC Biesty’s Centra Team car notified the three riders in the leading group, Philip McKeown,

Tony Blaney and Jordan McCaw that the rest of the field was not going to catch them and get ready to launch a race winning attack.

On the uphill sprint to the finish Jordan McCaw won the sprint easily and team mate Philip McKeown was 3rd.

Tony Blaney finished just outside the top ten. Ryan Orr led in the bunch sprint. This now sees the Ballymoney club leading the league overall by 27 points and in the individual riders standings Jordan McCaw leads.

* Clough’s Aaron Swan won the Armoy Bike Race. This was the second year that Ballymoney CC have been invited to host in conjunction with the motor bike racing at Armoy promoted by the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club.
