Whitehead Tennis Club held a very successful captain’s day on Saturday.

In what turned out to be breezy but sunny and warm weather there was a good turnout of players participating. Competition was keen and matches took some time to play as some of the handicaps were very high.

After play was over club captain Daphne Cairns hosted tea in Castleview pavilion. As this was the 40th playing season of the club there were two special guests invited, Olive Jones and Ann Mulholland, both of whom had been members since 1972, the year in which the club was founded.
