The Premier League table is starting to take shape

THE good news this week in the A McLean Bookmakers Premier Division is that all postponed matches have now been played and what a difference it has made to the table.

For Mulholland's it was both good and bad news as they were successful in their postponed match against Banbridge Legion but defeated by Angler's on Tuesday. Mulholland's will be kicking themselves as this was a golden opportunity to top the table.

Angler's also had a mixed week in which they played a previously postponed match against Coach, had they won that game they would have leapfrogged both Mulholland's and O'Reilly's to the top. But an unpredictable Coach side upset the form book to defeat Angler's to deny them topping the table.

Angler's, as mentioned above, then went on to defeat Mulholland's. In another postponed match that had less impact on the table Banbridge Golf Club defeated Cullen's of Tandragee.

With the teams above them failing to take advantage Market are now waiting in the wings just waiting to pounce. They are mounting a serious challenge as they gained maximum points against Cullen's.

Just outside the top four First & Last are also putting together a string of results. Defeating neighbours Higgin's has earned F&L bragging points on Scarva Street.

Just as the top of table is getting congested so too is the lower half. By defeating Golf Club the Legion are sitting in a group of three. It certainly was a ‘moving' week in the division; nobody would be able to safely predict a winner at this stage.

The names are now in for the Leader sponsored Individuals tournament. A total of 85 competitors will battle it out in the Coach poolroom over the next few weeks to crown the Individual champion.

Details of the draw will be distributed this week with the first matches played next Monday 31st and Tuesday 1st February. Please note the starting time of 8pm.
