Thelma sparkles for Sloan Street

Thelma Iriwn’s rink was in sparkling form when Sloan Street beat Aghagallon by 18 shots and took six home points in Section B of the Roy Kennedy Fuels League.

A five at the fifth gave Thelma a 9-1 lead and a four at the seventh made it 13-2. Chris Connolly added anther single but Sloan Street finished with a four to win by 14 shots.

Marie Corey started with two doubles but Adrian McNevison levelled with a three at the fourth. Sloan Street were 9-5 ahead with an end left when Aghagallon got a single.

At the fourth Geraldine Tallon led 3-2, but Ken Armstrong came back with two fours and after dropping two singles finished with a one to win by six shots.

After starting with a four Eamon Hamill was 8-2 ahead at the sixth. Stephen Irwin lifted two singles but Aghagallon finished with a single to win by five shots.

Over-55 pairs finalists

The final two in the over-55 pairs was decided last week and they played in the final to decide who goes forward to the National finals.

Roy Kennedy and Sid Heasley, Eglantine, won through in one section and they were joined by Rock’s Michael Reid and John Cushnahan.

The Eglantine Christmas fun night attracted 61 people and was a brilliant night of fun.

The winners were lady, Dorothy Kinghan and gents, Billy Moore, who both received a meat voucher.

Two week break

The Roy Kennedy Indoor Bowling League takes a two week break over the Christmas and New Year period.
