The visitors applied all the pressure in the opening 10 minutes and had their reward in the form of an Adam Cromwell try, converted by Ben Jameson.

Robin Hewitt and Allister McDowell carried well before Robin Sinton crossed for the second try, which went unconverted.

Twenty minutes in the home side reduced the deficit when their strong direct running earned them an unconverted try.

But by the interval Bann had forged further ahead after the backs had handled well to give Ben Smith the space out wide to put him in for the third try.

Bann had to show their defensive qualities at the start of the second half but with Cromwell setting the example with his chop tackling, they were able to prevent Coleraine adding to their tally.

Smith picked up his second try after the backs had again shown their silky handling skills to set him off on a 50 metre run to the try line.

Then Smith became the creator rather than finisher, with his kick through followed up by Jack Myles for the fifth try.

With the regular pivot unavailable, Myles took over the No 9 shirt and he performed creditably in the unfamiliar role. Up front carried a lot of ball and was always busy.
