Thirds beaten by Belfast big boys

Ballymena Thirds 1

Linfield Thirds 2

A STRONG Linfield team pushed from the start but Ballymena coped well and as the game settled the first chance fell to John Cassidy of Ballymena who fired just wide. Chris Bradley was called into action with two excellant saves before half time.

The second half saw Ballymena start well and Ross Nelson brought a good save from the Linfield keeper down at his post. With only 15 minutes left Ballymena gave the first of two poor goals away and within a minute they were two goals down but Ballymena lifted themselves and Neil Lowry lobbed the keeper after a great passage of play. Next week away to Carrick.
