Thirds edged out

BALLYMONEY thirds started spritely with a good run by Laura McCurdy with her shot just wide of the posts but Randalstown soon settled into their stride scoring their first goal in the third minute.

This was followed by a fine save by Lauren Marshall to deny goal number two with Randalstown always looking dangerous on the break.

In the 10th minute Money had three short corners but failed to convert and were then put under immense pressure for the next 10 minutes ending with two goals in quick succession for Randalstown to lead 3-0 at half-time.

In the second half Money upped their game and had the measure of Randalstown making a number of fine attacking moves and closing down their opponents in midfield. Rebecca Turton made a fine run up the right and sent a great pass across the circle but Money failed to convert.

Randalstown scored their fourth and final goal in the 40th minute but Money continued to run at their defence but unfortunately couldn't find the net. A disappointing result for the young Money side but a good turn around in the second half showed great determination which will stand them in good stead for forthcoming games.

Thanks to Jackie McNeill for umpiring.
