However it was not all one-sided. Cookstown proved dangerous on the break and great clearances from Ciara McGuigan and great saves from goalkeeper Sophie Spence stopped the Cookstown attackers scoring. Just before half time, hard work from Rebecca Turton and Karen Morrison up the left put the ball into the circle for Kate Ruddock to find the back of the net.

At the beginning of the second half, Cookstown made ground but Ballymoney’s defence defended well leading to a super run and another good cross from Johanne McAllister that was swept in by Hollie Fleming which made the score 4-0.

From the pass back, Rebecca Turton intercepted the pass and ran up the pitch to pass the ball across to Hollie Fleming who finished of Ballymoney’s scoring at 5-0.

With little time left, Cookstown had one last chance to attack and from a superb run they made an excellent attempt which unfortunately beat the keeper leaving the score 5-1 at full time. The girls would like to thank the umpires, coach Lynne and all who supported.
