Three games in eight days

THE postponement of Armagh's game last weekend in the McKenna Cup's has left the county facing three games in an eight day period.

Paddy O'Rourke's team make a belated start to the season on Saturday at Crossmaglen before travelling to Enniskillen to play Monaghan next Wednesday under lights.

It is understood that the postponed game against Fermanagh will go ahead on Sunday week, probably at the Athletic Grounds.

The minimum of three McKenna Cup outings will give Paddy O'Rourke the chance to run the rule over this squad before the National League starts in February.

Although Ciaran McKeever, the main absentee through injury, will be out for a period no further problems would appear to be forthcoming for the 30 strong panel.

The county side have been training indoors recently under the guidance of trainer Niko McGivern who has also a good track record with other sports.

With most of the big name forwards now retired a lot of this season will depend on the scoring prowess of Steven McDonnell. Ronan Clarke is expected to join the panel at a later date.
