This was number 14 of the Thursday Opens this season. Kieran has won the best gross prize on four occasions. This was his first outright victory.

Kieran is an avid student of the game and is always trying to improve. Any success that comes his way is well deserved.

The weather was nice and the course was in ideal condition but the result wasn’t good.

Seamus McGrath was top scorer for Banbridge with 33 points. Verdun Bond was next best with 32 points. Then came Norman Doak and Peter Hillen, both with 31 points.

Their team total was 127 poins, their second lowest score in the league so far.

The other four players for Banbridge were Dougie Stevenson, Merton McDowell, Bobby Geddis and Sam Wilkinson.

Round seven of the MUSA will be played at Spa Golf Club on Tuesday 9th August. Let’s hope for better luck at that venue.
