Tigers dominant

THE Lurgan Tigers Under 13s played Newry at Pollock Park on Saturday.

Lurgan totally dominated the game from start to finish and ran out convincing 58–0 winners.

The two most pleasing aspects of the game from the home side’s point of view were the solid defence which prevented Newry from scoring and the range of tries scored by the Tigers.

There were a number of fine individual efforts and some well worked team tries. The Lurgan forward eight overwhelmed their Newry counterparts and set the platform for the Tigers back line to launch wave after wave of attacks.

There were two tries each for James Patterson, Harry Simpson, Ryan Osborne and Ryan Emerson, plus one apiece for Dylan Mooney and Scott Wilson who was also successful with three out of five conversion attempts.

This Saturday the Tigers travel to the Palace Grounds to play Armagh.
