Title race hots up in Division One

The Forge Bar entertained Bullseye A last week and raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to some clinical pool from Lee Hull, Scott Clark and Darren Boyd.

Bullseye did well to pull back a couple of good frames late on from Chris McColgan and Steven Warwick.

The Forge stepped on the gas in session two as they recorded a 5-0 whitewash the highlight eight ballers from Alan McBride and Lee Hull.

The Bullseye restored some pride winning the first two frames of session three through Steven Warwick and Keith Hunter, but the Forge sealed the win by winning the remaining three frames. Man of the Match: Scott Clark

League leaders Potters A kept the pressure on the chasing pack as they recorded a comfortable 15-5 win over Mary Pats. Captain Marc Hutchinson and Ady Toner produced some great pool winning four from four to both pick up the Man of the Match gong.

Sperrin also recorded an easy win at home to Racks B with the away team only turning up with three players.

In a rearranged fixture Sperrin hosted fellow title challengers Forge. The pool on show was patchy at best with nerves playing its part.

It was the Forge men though who held their nerve to seal a vital 11-9 win. Chris Wade secured the clincher frame showing his international captain what he is capable of and it keeps the league wide open with four teams still in with a chance of winning it.

In Division Two leaders Potters B secured their position at the top with a 14-6 win over Grove Bar. The first session was tight with Potters grabbing a 3-2 lead, however they whitewashed their visitors in the next before wrapping up the win in the final session.

If they keep this form going they are going to be hard to stop.
