Tom on form at Shuttlecock event

Conditions were the most difficult so far this season, with strong winds and heavy showers testing the players skills to the limit.

New member Tom McGeown made light of any difficulties, by winning the Low Section with a score of 38 points, three clear of Eugene Laverty on 35 points.

In the High Section Bob Cummings bagged his second win of the season, returning a score of 34 points. A strong back nine boosted with a four pointer at the tricky tenth hole yielded 19 points, the best inward score of the day. Bob just pipped David Hynds who finished with a commendable total of 33 points.

The Twos competition surprisingly produced four winners, Jim Gordon,Tom McGeown, Eugene Laverty and Paddy McLaughlin.

The next outing for the society will be at Ballycastle Golf Club on Thursday, July 29 with tee off times running from 3.30pm to 5.00pm.
