Tom tops sweep competition

THERE was another huge turn out of members in the Wednesday Sweep last week.

Tom Doherty came out tops in the competition with an effort of 41 points. Playing off an nineteen handicap Tom managed a consistent 21 and 20 points for the respective nines.

Eight handicapper Jim McKee shot 39 points to capture second place. Jim headed to the tenth tee with 19 points on his card. A birdie at the second and pars at holes one, three, seven and nine were his premier scores on the front side. Meanwhile on the concluding nine a birdie at seventeen and pars at holes ten, twelve, thirteen, fourteen and eighteen were his outstanding plays.

Martin Drain was third with a similar total of 39 points. This six handicapper attained 20 and 19 points for the nines..

With the last return of 39 points Raymond Farrell captured fourth place in the event. This fourteen handicapper also posted scores of 20 and 19 points for the nines.

Young Jordan Blakely captured the last net prize on offer. Off his eighteen handicap he registered a tally of 38 points. He was out in 16 points but came home with a more than useful total of 22 points.

Two handicapper Francie Tallon secured another gross award. On this occasion 34 gross points gave him the prize.
