Tommy takes top spot

IT was Tommy Dykes(14) who with a score of 41 points snatched victory, by just a point, from Robert McNeill (3).

Robert has hit great vein of form recently and can't be too disappointed with second place after another fine showing in Division one at Gracehill and finished one ahead of Tuck Young (15) in third. In Division 2 Drew Cochrane (26) took the top spot with 36 points one ahead of John Mullin (22) with Paul Speirs (28) taking third also with 35 points but beaten on countback. Ian Morrison(5) secured the Gross Prize with 32points.

On Sunday Kenny McCullough (15) had a a great score of 41 points to finish top of Division 1- two ahead of Robert McNeill who, as the day before,took second place one ahead of Herbie McCook (13) on 38points, Darren Lamont (5) had the Best Gross with 31points. In Division 2 a fine performance from 18 handicapper Andrew Smyth saw him net 41 points to claim first prize two ahead of Andrew murphy (18) and James McIlhatton (28) who were seperated by back nine scores Miller Eagleson (170 scored 37 for fouth place.

Twos were scored by J. Baird, C. Linton, L. Linton, M. McAleese, R. McAleese (2), R. McKessick, and R. McNeill .

The Winter league results were finalised with players' top five scores contributing to the final deciding total. In the end only two points separated the top two spots -that equates to a weekly margin of only 0.4 points and saw Mal McConaghie take the Big Prize with an excellent 195 point tally (39 point average) with Cahal McAuley on 193 (38.6 average). Joe Sloan was third with 188 points (37.6 average).
