Club commodore, Gordon Kane, told the Times: “Achieving Volvo RYA Champion Club status has been the result of significant effort and dedication by our members. To achieve this award is direct recognition of coaches and volunteers who readily give up their time to develop young sailors and ensure the necessary skills and resources are in place for this to happen. This work is evident in the achievements of young members over recent years. Having been awarded the prestigious Champion Club status ensures EABC is in a good position to develop further.”
