Top British drivers on show at Raceway

Some of the top Stock Car drivers from all four corners of the UK will descend on Ballymena Raceway this Friday evening (June 14) to contest the Curtis Cars F2 Challenge Trophy.

Reigning Stock Car World Champion Micky Brennan - who already has 5 final wins under his belt this season - tops the entry list. 2002 World Champion Chris Burgoyne from Falkirk is a very popular driver and the strong Scottish challenge also includes teenage sensation Liam Rennie from Dundee, Peterhead’s Kevin Bruce, Glasgow’s George MacMillan and Willie Draeger from Dumfries.

Former World No. 1 Daz Kitson from Cambridgeshire is always a big threat for victory, while recently crowned National Champion Tom Adcroft from Burnley in Lancashire makes his first appearance in Northern Ireland this weekend.

The home drivers will be keen to keep the trophy in the province however, with former European Champion Craig McConnell one of the top local hopes for glory.

Antrim based quartet of Christopher Kincaid, Dean McCrory, Gary Blair and Conor Hughes are also expected to figure prominently along with former Irish Champion Gavin Fegan from Lisburn.

A full scheduled of support races is also programmed for Friday evening and includes the hilarious Shopping Trolley dash, which is worth the entrance fee on its own! A great evening of short oval action lies in store with the first race at 7:15pm.
