Top coach to help launch new deal

PLAYING for the Future are holding a coaching clinic which will also launch a new sponsorship deal with KIT Ireland.

The leading sportswear provider recently pledged their support to Playing for the Future.

The group has secured the services of highly regarded English coach Andy Sas to conduct the coaching clinics that are being held at Glenavon, Lurgan Town and Armagh City.

The coaching clinics will take place on February 17 and 19 over a three hour period and will focus on long term player development.

Andy has worked for Leeds United, Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town and is currently employed by Everton.

Andy will also do sessions with players involved in the Playing for the Future one-to-one specialised coaching programme.

Playing for the Future’s Thomas McStravick said: “We are delighted to announce such an exciting opportunity. This is a major coup for us as Andy does similar work for the Polish FA and professional clubs such as Legia Warsaw.

“I know Andy through a contact I have in England and first met him while on a visit to the Leeds United Academy. He is really looking forward to coming over and we hope that this is the start of a long-term relationship between Playing for the Future and Andy.

“Andy has worked with some of the top players in today’s game including the likes of James Milner, Aaron Lennon, Phil Jones, Jonathon Woodgate as well as many others.”
