Top players take aim for the popular annual Jubilee Cup hosted by Mechanics Institute

The Mechanics Institute Darts team host their annual Jubilee Cup Invitational on Saturday in what once again looks set to be a fantastic local feast of darting talent.

Returning this year are title holder Kyle McKinstry and runner up Roy Montgomery.

Both Northern Ireland Internationals have found themselves on either side of the draw, so should they navigate the groups and knockout stages it may well be a repeat of last years final.

In their way stands 38 other players who are a very high quality mix of Internationals, County and local league throwers representing the Craigavon League, Laurelvale District Darts League, Banbridge and Lisburn Darts Leagues.

As with previous years the team are raising funds for local charity and have this selected Parkview Special Care School in Lisburn, who provide a safe, caring environment whilst making their pupils feel valued at all times, and also the Heartbeat Trust based in Belfast which provides support for families of children with heart disease.

Both very worthwhile causes.

It is only thanks to those who sponsor the event which make it possible to raise funds while hosting a tournament and the club would like to thank the following sponsors for their kind support:

Walsin Innovative Façade Solutions; Anfield Trophies of Lurgan; Nigel McCorry Painter and Decorator; Roger Allen of Allen Logistics; Paddy Allen of Moira Equestrian Centre; AL Hair Design Lurgan; Dtown Diner Dollingstown; Glenn Mawhinney Painter and Decorator; Lurgan Institute FC; Top Men Hairdressers; Odd Jobs Bob Handyman Services.

Without these people and businesses nothing would be possible so thanks must go to them all for their valued support.

With the draw complete and players ready to toe the oche, anyone who is a fan of darts is welcome to come along and support this popular event.

Registration for players starts at noon on Saturday with the games getting underway at 1pm.
