Top show from Brian Milne

All matches are being played in the Pot Black Snooker Club and first on the green baize was the potter, Peter Reilly versus the king of the safety play, Conor Gillespie.

Reilly got off to a flying start with some small breaks to secure the first. In the next Connor started to play to his full potential by mean’s of small breaks followed by perfect safety.

Gillespie was in his element and his opponent conceded the frame as he had only seven points on the score-board. This was as good as it got for Conor as Reilly powered on into the semi-final by winning the next two frames to leave score line of 3-1.

The next match brought together two of the best players on the circuit, Brian Milne and Gerard McAuley.

The first was all even until McAuley hit form to take the opening frame. Milne is truly a very special player and his potting ability speaks for itself as he threw in a brilliant 70 break to level the scoreline.

In the next McAuley hit 31 break but then committed a foul leaving Milne with a chance which he took to clear up with a break of 37 to go 2-1 ahead.

This was a contest of two brilliant players and in the fourth, Milne was on a roll as he produced yet another break of 63 to casually strole into the semi-final stage of the Individual.

The third match saw two time winner Paul McGuckin take on John Halferty. The snooker on show was largely disappointing but McGuckin held his nerve to take the opening two frames.

Halferty had McGuckin in trouble as he placed him in five unbelievable snookers. McGuckin got out of every one and eventually he got his opening to clear the last three colours to take the match 3-0.

The final match between Mickey Quinn and Paul Currie is re-arranged and full details will be published once played.
