Top three drop points

Villa Swifts travelled to the Sperrin missing their two most influential players Davy Glenn and Gerard Dallas who were in Hull this week competing in the Lakeside World Championship Qualifiers and Winmau World Masters and with just seven players managed to leave with a share of the points.

Coming back from 3-1 down they then won the next three games to lead 4-3 but young Talent Matthew Dorrans managed to hold his nerve in the final game for the Sperrin.

Sperrin Flights who had been closing the gap on the Swifts travelled to Berthas but were overcome by an excellent team performance from Berthas who raced into a 3-0 lead with some brilliant darts from David Finlay.

The Flights took three of the next four games leaving them needing the last game for a draw but Berthas new signing Owen McLaughlin with some good scoring proved too good for William Robertson and took the game to give Berthas a much deserved win.

Tigers Bar have started the season well and were looking to continue that at home to Hecklers. They controlled the start of this match leading 3-1 at the halfway stage but 2 x 19 dart legs from Nigel Mullan for Hecklers started their comeback as hecklers won three games in a row to lead 4-3 going into the final game. A tough final game saw Ali Watt for Tigers and James McAlary for Hecklers come down to a deciding leg and it was Ali with the home support who thrashed out a win to give both teams a share of the points.

After some good results against the top teams for Kellys this season, most predicted an easy win for them this week against Villa, Villa however had other ideas and took the early advantage as they moved into 3-0 lead which included another excellent performance for Pearse McGarry who overcame a 15-dart leg and 116 checkout from Aaron Hayter to take the deciding leg.

Kellys fought back winning the next two games raising their hopes of getting the win but these hopes were soon dashed as Rodney Kane and Keith Gibson won the next two games to give Villa a much needed win. There was little consolation for the away team as Vinnie McKay managed to take the last game for Kellys against Philip Moffitt.

Scotch A were looking to bounce back this week against bottom of the table Third Tree after last weeks defeat. Scotch A took the lead here through Mervyn Greer before Colin McLaughlin then levelled the match in the next. Any hopes of Third Tree getting their first points of the season were then put to bed as Scotch A took control of the match winning the next four games to secure the points.

Third Tree managed to pull one back through Colin McLaughlin Jnr before Samuel Wilmont completed the win for the Home team.

After last weeks whitewash Social Club returned to winning ways at home to Scotch B this week. After Social Club went 2-0 up, Scotch B fought back winning two of the next three games through Sandy Wilmont and William Connor giving them hopes of getting their first points of the season but it wasn’t to be as Social Club took the remaining three games with some steady scoring from Steven Campbell, Willie Hutton and Andrew Allen to take the win and the points.
