Tough tie for Fourths

BANBRIDGE made the made the trip to face a tough North Down side on the back of some unlucky results.

They fell behind midway through the first half via a North Down short corner. Aside from the threat posed by the occasional short corner, North Down offered little other threat to the Banbridge goal. As the half progressed Banbridge increasingly started to boss the game but were left frustrated by some excellent goalkeeping by the North Down keeper.

Banbridge started the half as they had ended the first and quickly equalised through a Gary Dean piledriver. It was just reward for the amount of possession Banbridge had enjoyed. Soon after Bann gained the lead, this time via a short corner of their own, with Joe McKnight smashing home. Banbridge continued to dominate possession but were left frustrated as the busy Dean could not find his way past the opposition keeper to add to his goal tally.

On the one occasion that North Down did manage to muster a shot on goal, stand in goalkeeper David Morrisson pulled off a superb stick save.
