Town looking to make history by reaching cup last four

BANBRIDGE Town could make history on Saturday as they make the long journey to Championship 1 side Dergview in the quarter finals of the Intermediate Cup (kick-off 1.30pm).

The last time they won the competition was in 1986 and Brian Adair’s men are making a massive push to make it into the last four.

Playing against opposition from a division above them will be a big ask for Town but one which they believe are quite capable of winning.

Barry Tumilty and Chris McGrath will be free from suspension and available while fingers crossed Chris Kingsberry will also return from injury. Neil Alderdice could also return from injury.

Should all four be available that would be a big boost to Town’s hopes of a semi-final appearance.

- Banbridge Town Football Club would like to express their thanks to George Wilton and Jackie Craig for their recent donation of a framed photograph of Banbridge United taken during Season 1931/32.

This photograph is in superb condition and was on display in the now sadly defunct McGrath’s Pub in Rathfriland Street. It will be of great interest to elder statesmen and ladies and their families and is now on display in the Lounge at Banbridge Town Football Club.

- In fixture news Banbridge Town’s away trip to Queen’s University will now be played at the Dub Tuesday, 12 March with a 7.45pm kick-off.
