Trev is the top man

TREVOR Parkhill has hailed the influence of Glebe Rangers boss Gareth Scott.

Scott took the managerial reins at the Championship club at a difficult time when they were in decline.

But the new boss quickly got his side moving in the right direction and a fantastic run in March has not gone unnoticed.

Striker, Parkhill, bagged four goals during the month and has been named the Carling Northern Ireland Football Writers Association Championship Player of the Month for March.

"It really is all down to the change of manager, Parkhill said.

"Since he arrived, the team has picked up and we are climbing up the table.

"We've managed to win a few games against some of the stronger sides in the league which has been a big boost.

"I've managed to chip in with a few goals but it is a team effort and I am delighted to pick up our first ever award on behalf of everyone connected with the club.

Parkhill took the award ahead of Loughgall duo, David Hawthorne and Marc Robinson.

Carling’s Niall McMullan said, "Trevor was simply outstanding in March and I’m thrilled that his displays have caught the attention of the Carling Football Writers. Carling is delighted to be at the heart of local football, supporting local talent, and bringing local people back to the game.”
