TT is biggest event of year

THE Craigavon Model Car Club host their biggest event of the year this weekend, the Ulster TT at Kernan playing fields.

Qualifying is on Saturday and the finals take place on Sunday.

This year the club has been able to attract some of the biggest names in the UK including the current British Saloons champion David Bowen, multiple British Champion and current European Off Road Champion Ian Oddie, and leading contenders Adam Griffiths and Mark Grant. Drivers are also coming from as far away as Cork and Limerick.

Leading the challenge from the Craigavon Club will be four times Northern Ireland Champion Michael Sloan, Kenny McCann and David Cairns.

In the bikes class the UK challenge will come from visiting drivers Roki Read who finished an impressive seventh overall in the world championship last month and Chris Douglas, the current British stock bike champion.

Current Northern Ireland bike champion David Adair will be leading the Craigavon challenge along with other top local drivers, Craig Robinson and Robert Charters.

Admission and parking on the two days is free for spectators.
