Tullylish GAC awarded prestigious Gold Award

Endorsed by Sport NI, Club Maith is an Ulster Council accredited scheme which allows GAA clubs in Ulster to be assessed against a wide range of criteria.

Best practice is at the core of the process which measures a club’s structures in terms of: Coaching, Games Development, Community Engagement, Health & Wellbeing and general Governance around how the club is run.

Successful clubs are eligible for the benefits associated with being a Clubmark NI accredited club.

Commenting on the award, Tullylish Chairman Vincent Doran said, “Everyone at the club is delighted with the Gold Award under the Club Maith scheme, which is the highest award for a football only club.

“To achieve the award the club had to provide over 100 pieces of evidence to demonstrate how we met the various assessment criteria.

“We’re very proud to be one of the few clubs in Down to achieve this recognition and coming at a time when work will be starting shortly on the development of our second full size playing field it is certainly an exciting time for everyone at Tullylish.

“I would like to thank the Club Maith sub-committee for all their hard work on this scheme over the past two years and I hope the award will encourage even more people to get involved in the club as the new 2016 season is about to kick off.”
