Tullylish Premier Reserves continue winning run

St John's 0-07

Tullylish 2-16

TULLYLISH Premier Reserves recorded their fourth consecutive win against bottom of the table St Johns on Sunday last.

It was Tullylish who opened the scoring immediately with two Ryan McAnearney points in quick succession. The engineering runs of Kevin McKiverghan resulted in a fine solo point on his behalf and pushed Tullylish ahead by three points in as many minutes.

Chris McGovern was rewarded for his constant pressure on the ‘Johnnies’ back line, by registering a goal for the visitors following a defensive mix-up.

This was the start of the rout as McGovern added another goal and three points to the scoreboard. Further points from McKiverghan and Kevin McCartan left the halt time score at

St John's 0-03, Tullylish 2-10.

For the opening ten minutes of the second half, both sides traded points again through McCartan and McGovern. Tullylish dominated in every area of the field and can thank the industrious Brian Thompson and Kevin Murphy for their excellent display of high-fielding throughout the game which generated each Tullylish attack and contributed to McGoverns tally of 2-07.

To their credit St John's continued to attack the Tullylish rearguard at every chance but every potential threat on the visitors goal was repelled by the impressive Mick Feeney, Gavin McEvoy and Phillip Grew.

This was a great team performance which continued their winning run and pushed them further up the table.
