Tullylish stay three points clear of Glen

Tullylish powered their way to a five point win away to Newry Bosco on Friday night, keeping them three points clear of Glen in the race for promotion to Division 1.

The locals were quickest to settle with three unanswered points from Pete Quinn, Gareth Johnston and Shannon Drainey, before Kevin McCartan struck goal from a well worked move involving John McAreavey and Pete Quinn.

This left it 1-3 to no score after 12 minutes.

Bosco recorded their first score from a free by Kevin Murdock on 15 minutes. Tullylish defence were working well together cutting out the Bosco attack and breaking forward at speed. On 22 minutes Bosco scored a goal and came more into the game, pegging Tullylish back to a half time score of 1-8 to 1-6.

In the second half Bosco reduced the scoreline to a single point. The Tullylish lads responded with three unanswered points from play. The first being the best of the game from Gareth Johnston who soloed from midfield. This lifted the visitors as they out scored Bosco by 8 points to 5 points in the second half.
