Twentyyear wait for this match

The Division Two clash tomorrow night between Clan na Gael and Eire Og will be the first meeting between the sides in competitive action for over 20 years.

Davitt Park will provide the venue for this derby which will give a guide as to where both sides are at present.

The Blues were former Armagh and Ulster kingpins, but shifting populations have seen the Francis Street side struggle to get back to the glory days and although they will be fancied to gain promotion, the Lurgan men may have to settle for a second or third place. On the modern stage Eire Og have made giant strides, they are well above half way in Division 2 and have gained a wealth of experience under their former management pair of Mickey Devlin and Oliver Cormican who are now in charge of Wolfe Tones. The Og’s will face their toughest game to date against the Clans, the Blues are embarking on a re-building process and although it could take a number of years to bear fruit they are still difficult to beat at Davitt Park. Also in Division 2 Wolfe Tones should beat An Port Mor, leaders Tir na Nog face Dorsey Emmetts and Clann Eireann will be looking for their first win against Clonmore.
