Two birdies set Gareth up for winning score in the Winter League

After the Christmas festivities, many ventured out on Saturday for Week Ten of the 2013/2014 Andrew Annett Winter League.

The over indulgences of the previous few days did not prevent some high scores with Gareth Poole (08) top of the Christmas tree with a very creditable 30 points beating his nearest competitor Barry Dunlop (10) by one. Gareth birdied the first and sixth holes in amassing his winning score.

The low section was won by Vice Captain Ed Donaldson (05) with 26 points. Ed had two birdies, eight pars, a bogey and double bogey. The mid-section (12-17) was won by Maurice Wilkinson (15) who also scored 26 points.

The high section was won by Paul Duggan (19) also with 26. Colin McClenaghan (01) had the best gross on the day, a two under par 46. His card included three birdies at the third, 11th and 12th holes; eight pars and a single bogey.
