Two 'buyers' for the Whites

TWO potential buyers have expressed an interest in buying troubled Lisburn Distillery's ground.

The club are now in a CVA situation since it was revealed a few weeks ago they were in debt to the tune of 280,000.

Acting club chairman Bobby Hanna is hoping the financial black hole can be sorted out by the sale of the ground.

One of the interested parties is no surprise in the form of the group who run the popular Drumbo Park Greyhound Racing as part of a lease arrangement with Distillery. The Star understands they have been in talks with members of the board. "The people behind the dog racing facility have first option, but I understand from the company handling our CVA that another party has expressed an interest so we will just have to wait and see what develops" said Mr Hanna.

"There is no timeline as such. It's hard to say what the ground is worth in today's market, but hopefully it can be sorted out as soon as possible."

Last week the players agreed to accept reduced pay until the club are in a position to fulfil their contracts. "I am delighted at the way the players and staff have dealt with this terrible situation. We have to adhere to a reduced wage structure in the meantime and while that is tough on everyone, the players now know they will get all they are owed and their contracts will be honoured when the sale goes through," said Bobby.
