Two great results for Town U9s

BANBRIDGE Town U9s played another two games on Saturday at the Brownstown Development Centre with two great results after playing neat football in both matches.

In the first game the boys started really strongly probably playing their best football of the campaign so far with Daniel McGivern having a great run and shot. Soon after great exchange play between Josh Kerr, Joshua Noble and Harry Annett allowed the latter to get his shot in and cross the line to open the scoring.

Noble secured the second of the game lifting the ball over the goalkeeper after Annett’s pull back.

Kyle Bradford pulled off a fantastic save to keep a clean sheet and then Banbridge extended the gap when Noble’s long range shot nestled in the bottom corner.

The opposition then got one back but Annett then squeezed one under the goalkeeper to keep the gap at three goals. Alex Innocenzi and Taylor Hill were superb at the back with a number of covering tackles ably supported by Finn Martin.

Noble then scored Town’s final goal of the game with a carbon copy of his previous for his hat trick and Innocenzi also went close with a great curling shot just past the post.

Josh Kerr, Tom King and Daniel McGivern also went close to adding to the scoreline before the final whistle.

In the second game Town`s line up allowed for the rotation of the squad to continue with Tom King having a strike on goal saved by `the keeper but the scoring was opened when Daniel Mcgivern`s shot deflected off a defender. The same player then got the second when he scored with a great strike into the bottom corner.

The opposition pulled one back to close the gap but this was extended again when an unfortunate own goal while Finn Martin brought a save out of the `keeper as well with a high rising shot.

Kyle Bradford pulled off a great save for Town as well while Josh Kerr combined brilliantly with Alex Innocenzi at the back to support the midfield. Taylor Hill and Joshua Noble showed great feet going forward while Harry Annett got the final goal of the game in the closing stages lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

Overall great work again by the boys who continue to progress and develop through the small sided games approach at the Brownstown Development Centre. The coaches and the rest of the boys wish defender Bobby Jones and goalkeeper Toby Jones continued progress in their recoveries and hope to see them back after the Easter break.
