The U16 team opened up their league campaign with a good victory at home to Coalisland, final score Ardboe 5-14 Coalisland 1-7.

Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa GAC is proud to announce ‘Bash In The Bo’, the biggest Summer Festival to ever grace the shores of Lough Neagh. U6 boys training continues on Wednesday nights 7-8pm, parents are encouraged to remain at the session.

Girl’s u16 training continues every Tuesday and Thursday @6.15pm.

The senior ladies defeated Beragh in their last league game by 5-11 to 1-9 to secure their place at the top of the intermediate league; they will take on Cappagh in the league semi finals with fixture details to be confirmed. The ladies will take on Strabane on Sunday 28th July in the semi final of the championship at 7.30pm.

The club extends its sympathy to the Henry family on their recent bereavement.


DONAGHMORE

Our U16 boys got off to a disappointing start to their league campaign last Wednesday night with a defeat away to Clonoe. Their next game is at home to Edendork on Monday night at 7.30pm. All support welcome for all our youth teams.

There is a season ticket available for this year’s club championship games in Tyrone. The ticket is priced at £50 and entitles the holder to admission to all games and finals. Contact Pauric Gallagher or Patsy Hetherington if you are interested in purchasing one of these.

The committee and members of Donaghmore GAA would like offer our sympathy to the Keogh and Mc Causland families on the death of Mariead. Sympathies are also extended to the Kelly family (Galbally) on the passing of Bob.

The U10s had a blitz in Edendork on Saturday. Both teams played some great football against pomeroy green castle Kildress and the hosts. The next blitz for the U8s is on Saturday 10 August. We have also been invited to the bellaghy tournament for P4 and P6 on the 10 August.

On Tuesday eveing our U16s got the league campaign off to a winning start against Donaghmore. The game was close for the first half but a strong second half display seen the O’Rahillys pull away with several goals and some impressive 45m kicking.

MOY

An Mhaigh’s next game in the All-County League will be a starred fixture at home to Dromore St Dympna’s next Sunday afternoon (4th August). The reserve game is at 2.15pm, and will be followed by the senior match at 3.45pm.

Good luck to An Mhaigh ladies senior footballers who will play Castlederg in the semi-finals of the Junior Championship this Thursday night (1st August) at 8.15pm. The venue for this game will be Loughmacrory, and all support for the girls would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to An Mhaigh and Tyrone ladies senior footballer, Patricia O’Neill, who sustained a cruciate leg injury in the recent championship clash against Galbally that has ruled her out of action for the rest of the season. Trisha will be sorely missed for club and county but will no doubt be back all the stronger next year.

An Mhaigh U16 lads opened their grade two league campaign with a home game against Pomeroy Plunketts on Wednesday 24th July. The Tír na nÓgs went into this game slightly understrength but certainly played their part in a high-scoring contest that could have went either way. Visitors Pomeroy were the better team in the first half and were good value for their 1-10 to 2-2 interval lead. However, it was the Moy lads who came out firing for the second period and took the game to their opponents. In an exciting final thirty minutes, the lead changed hands on a couple of occasions, but it was Pomeroy who finished that bit stronger to win on a scoreline of 2-17 to 4-7. An Mhaigh scorers: P Mallon 2-2, R Coleman 1-1, M Conroy 1-0, F Kelly 0-2, T Loughran 0-1, C O’Hanlon 0-1. Meanwhile, a report of An Mhaigh’s round two league game away to neighbours Eglish on Monday 29th July will be included in next week’s notes. Well done to Colm, Sean and the rest of the Tyrone senior football squad and management on their fine victory over Meath in round 4 of the All-Ireland Qualifiers at Croke Park last weekend. Here’s hoping for a similar result when the Red Hands take on newly-crowned Ulster champions Monaghan in the All-Ireland Quarter-Final at Croke Park this Saturday.

Good luck also to the Tyrone minor players and management ahead of their All-Ireland quarter-final clash against Kerry at Croke Park this Sunday.

Patricia O’Neill (nee Conroy) and other club colleagues are organising a Health Promotion and Family Fun Day at our club on Saturday 10th August from 10am to 4pm. It will include a range of activities which aim to increase awareness on health issues, and to highlight the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise.

The Action Cancer Big Bus will be at our club premises providing two free services: 1) breast screening for women aged 40-49 years or over 70 years; and 2) MOT health checks for all. Appointments are limited and should be pre-booked by calling Action Cancer on 028 90 803344

Congratulations to An Mhaigh senior footballer, Emmett Rafferty, and his wife Triona who were blessed with the birth of a baby son recently. We wish the proud parents and their family every happiness and good health.


DERRYLAUGHAN

U6/8/10 training will continue on Wednesday evening at 7pm.

There is an U12 game this Tuesday night at 7pm in Killeeshil. Transport leaves the shore at 6.00pm. Training continues as normal at 6.15pm on Thursday night.

U16 training will take place on Monday and Thursday at 7.30pm this week.

The seniors and reserves travelled to Eglish on Sunday but both teams came away with no points. The seniors were beaten 0-16 to 0-10 while the reserves were beaten 0-15 to 1-8. Senior and reserve training continues as usual this week. Next weekend see a home game against Clonoe.

The monthly draw will take place next Sunday in Falls lounge. All collectors need to have all monies with Peter before this date.

Music classes will take place on Wednesday from 5.45-6.15pm .

Post primary camogie training will take place on Monday and Wednesday at the earlier time of 6.15pm.

ROCK

Lotto numbers for week commencing 21st July were 3, 13, 21,23. At the draw in McLernon’s Bar, eight people matched 3 numbers winning £15 each. This weeks jackpot (Monday 28th July) is £4800.

Rock were defeated at home to Eskra on Sunday last in the ACL Division 2. A good first half display saw Rock go in leading 0-6 to 0-2 at half time. An Eskra goal midway through the second half changed the course of the game and Eskra finished strongly to win on a scoreline of Rock 0-9 Eskra 1-9. Rock scorers: (0-5), Martin McCreesh(0-2), Aidan McGarrity(0-1), James McCreesh (0-1).

The U16s were defeated at home to Loughmacrory on Wednesday last, Rock 2-7 Loughmacrory 5-12.They are away to Killeshil on Monday 29th July at 7:30pm.

U10s attended a blitz in Galbally on Saturday last, once again competing very well. Many thanks to Galbally for their hospitality. Next U10 blitz is due on Saturday 17th August.

DUNGANNON

With all the Provincial finals now completed - the Buster has resulted in a tie on 53 points between Sean Coleman and Brendan Hampsey - as set out in the rules their selections for the All Ireland will now be used to determine the winner - third place also resulted in five way tie on 51 points between John Mallon, Malachy Coulter, Declan McGrath, Stephen Hughes and Ciara Heron, again selections for the All Ireland will now be used to determine third place. Once again thanks to all those who in such large numbers entered the Buster competition. The feedback on this novel and innovative idea has been very positive.

Our seniors lost out to Pomeroy on Sunday on a 1-9 to 1-7 scoreline, the Clarkes led by six points at one stage in the second half but let Pomeroy back into it, who hit 1 -05 in the last 15 minutes to win by two. Next week we are down to Play Derrytresk at Home, reserves throw in at 2.15pm and Seniors 3.45pm.

Our U16s lost to a strong Moortown side in the first round of the league last Wednesday, evening this Monday 29th they are playing Derrylaughan away throw in 7.30pm.

Round 7 of the U12 go games take place this Tuesday 30th July with the Clarkes at home to Galbally, throw in 7pm, and next Monday 5th August they play Moy away , again throw in 7pm.

Clarkes Og’s training continues up in the park on a Monday evening.

EOGHAN RUADH

The last two winners of the Nifty Fifty were Pauline Foye (15/07/13) and Ben McManus, (22/07/13)/ Pauline’s winning ticket was sold by Sheila McCrudden while Ben bought his ticket from Tommy Gates. Our minors were left disappointed last Monday when Lisbellaw failed to field. Our seniors last game was against Lisbellaw in the Armagh League. With some players still away it was an ideal opportunity for others to show what they were made of and young Dwyer Marshall certainly stepped up to the plate. He finished the night with a hat-trick of goals as Eoghan Ruadh ran out six point winners. Next up for the seniors is a championship semi-final against Na Seamróigí. Originally pencilled in for Saturday past, the game now goes ahead this week at Garvaghey.

Over the past few years Eoghan Ruadh’s youth policy has managed to produce some good very good teams, notably last year’s U14s and indeed this year’s Féile team too. It is a credit to all our coaches, players and their parents how these lads have applied themselves to acquiring the skills of our national game. Our the current U12 team may just turn out to be a little bit extra special. On Saturday past they managed to win the Kevin Lynch Memorial Trophy, defeating the host side not once but twice on the way to success. were all at Owenbeg two weeks ago. Training continues as usual at the Hurling Fields on Wednesday evenings. Played on a superb surface, in great weather and a large crowd, the young Eoghan Ruadh lads put on an exhibition of their skills. Against Derry city side Na Magha captain Cormac Hughes and Cain Ferguson started to adjust to the elements and scored freely. Armagh rivals Cuhulainns were next up and put up a great fight, but our midfield of Fearghal Donaghy and Micahel Little, alongside Luke Cullen, and S.P McKernan were outstanding. So three wins and our final group game was against host club Kevin Lynchs. In the move of the game young James Fearon showed all his battling skills, winning the sliotar from 3 Lynchs players, soloing the whole way through the defence to set up Cormac Hughes for the winning goal. That sent us through to the final. It was hosts Dungiven who were the opposition. The energetic Cain Ferguson set the tone with a wonderful goal from the start. Dungiven started the second half strongly, but Eoghan Ruadh went on to win the prestigous trophy. Thanks to Kevin Hinphey & Dungiven Kevin Lynch’s Hurling Club for the Invite.

Eoghan Ruadh sends best wishes to senior club goalkeeper Paddy McKillion as he takes on the might of Ireland’s big hitters in next weekend’s All Ireland Póc Fada at the Cooley Mountains.

On a sadder note and Eoghan Ruadh extends deepest sympathy to three former players on the deaths this week of their grandmothers. Shea Coyle, formerly an outstanding prospect at underage whose career was cut short by injury was a grandson of Mrs Amelia McCann of Bernagh Gardens. To Shea and all of the McCann family we extend our deepest sympathy. Sympathy is also extended to former players Paul and Stefan Pantry whose grandmother Mrs Mary Pantry passed away on Sunday, just a few short weeks after the death of her husband Harry and granddaughter Kerrie, To the Pantry family we again extend our deepest sympathy. Sympathy is also extended to the family of the late Patricia Begley (née Donnelly, Benburb), Reaskmore, Dungannon who passed away last week. Patricia’s own family is actively involved in the GAA in Killeeshill and Eglish clubs. Sympathy is also extended to Michael Keogh and the Keogh/McCausland family on the death of his wife Mairead. COALISLAND

Our Reserves and Seniors took on Dromore on Sunday in Drumragh in the latest round of the All County League. The Reserves where beat on a score line of 4-10 till 2-9 and the Seniors lost their first game in almost 2 years on a score line of 4-8 to 1-8.

The U16 boys finally got their season on the way on Wednesday July 24 away to Ardboe. Unfortunately for the blues they fell to a strong Ardboe side on a score line of Ardboe 5-14 Coalisland Fianna 1-7. Up next is Dungannon on August 3 at home.

Coalisland Fianna is proud to announce that local singing sensation Daniel Newman is playing live in Gervin’s Bar on Saturday August 3. Tickets are priced at £5 each and can be purchased from any committee member. This is in aid of field development and ask as many members to come along for a great night’s craic. This is a night you will not want to miss.
