The Juniors first half display was lacklustred with little imagination and with Lurgan packing the midfield the Juniors found it hard to find a way through with the only chance falling to Barr who was harshly adjudged to be offside.

Lurgan caused a few scares and Cromie had to be at his best to fingertip a shot away and then smothering the loose ball from a Lurgan forward. Lurgan were happy to sit back and soak the pressure up and hit the Juniors on the break and just short of half time they almost scored but their forward’s shot went just wide.

A stern half time talk geed the Juniors up and it paid dividends as they scored two goals within the first five minutes of the second half.

A well rehearsed corner worked wonders when Hamilton played a short pass to McCandless who turned his marker and fired a shot past the hapless keeper.

The cheers had hardly died when Dillon swept in a second after a fumble by the otherwise composed Lurgan keeper and from then on it was one way traffic as the Juniors strived to add more goals.

Angus poked a shot just wide and the young striker hit a post soon after. McKinstry after excellent work fired what looked like an unstoppable shot but the Lurgan keeper parried it onto the bar and away to safety. Morgan then had a header just wide and Duffin went close with an angled shot.

The Juniors endured one last scare when their hosts hit the bar but they hung on for another precious three points and with all the results in it meant that the Juniors went joint top of the league.
