U15s get the points against the Point

MONEYSLANE’S U15s hosted Warrenpoint in a league fixture midweek and worked hard to gain three important points.

Slane got off to a great start when Dickson lobbed just wide and it was a hard hitting game and Slane were not shy in the tackles.

Scott and Boyd hit over and Slane were working hard all over the pitch. Martin pulled off a good save to keep the score level and the back four for Slane were solid.

Porter and Scott were gelling nicely in midfield and both team were trying to probe away through.

Slane got their reward from a Galloway free kick that sailed straight into the net just before the break.

The hosts came out the second half determined to keep their shape and they did so with a great display of team work. Dickson and Boyd again came close and Kinley hit just wide.

Ervine and Smyth made a good account of them in this game and showed they can step up a year to compete with the 15’s.

Slane fought hard to the last and held onto the victory to push them third in the Division.

Best on the night for Slane was Philip Galloway.
