U17s mission to retain league title starts with defeat

Ballymena United U17 1

Shankill Youth U17 3

THE new session has now started for Ballymena United IV's in the quest to retain the league title.

The first half saw Ballymena start slowly and they were caught out with two quick goals from the Belfast side before half time. At the start of the second half, Ballymena made changes to the formation and the initial eleven players with the introduction of Jordan Waring and were rewarded with a goal from Colin Moore 12 minutes after the restart. Ballymena controlled the majority of the second half and pressed for an equaliser, but Shankill scored on the hour mark with a well taken counter attaching move. Ballymema never gave up looking for that second goal and came close several times without reward.

United take on Ards Youth U17s next week.
