U17s win but still have plenty to do

Although initially rusty Dromore defended well and began to get the better of the larger Instonians forwards. From a line out catch and drive Dromore spread the ball to centre Adam Reaney who broke through a number of tackles and scored in the corner. The try went unconverted.

This seemed to spark the Instonians team who used their big players to pummel the Dromore defence.

Eventually they scored from a short penalty move near the posts, this try was converted, and the score 5–7 ended the first half.

Dromore started to play the rugby they are renowned for with an early try by centre Johnny Creighton who hit a flat line from a scrum and stepped his opposite number inside out also side stepping the full back to score near the posts. TJ Morris converted.

Instonians kept the pressure on with a spirited defence. A further line out catch and drive gave TJ Morris the ball and it was moved right across the pitch to Reaney who danced around the defence to score in the corner.

Instonians scored again with a driving forward maul in the corner. They also kicked a penalty to keep the pressure on a stuttering Dromore team.

As the clock ran down Dromore got a scrum on Instonians five metre line. Scrum half Adam McDonald picked the ball and side stepped the Instonians out half and centre to dive in close to the posts, probably the try of the match.

Morris converted to end the scoring for the day. An entertaining match for the spectators with lots of work to do for the Dromore team in training next week.
