U18s hold on

DROMORE travelled to Markethill on Saturday and for the spectator the game had everything - excitement, a goal feast and a good old ding dong with nine added minutes.

The locals started with the same team that won at Cookstown the previous week and as the first half ended they were in a commanding 4-2 lead thanks to McKinstry, Walker, Martin and Neill.

The second half was of a similar pattern with Dromore adding a further two from Neill and Abolfazlian and with the score at 6-3 with a minute of normal time remaining the home team scored to make it 6-4.

The referee added a further nine minutes and Markethill scored with almost the last kick to make it 6-5 but Dromore held on for the deserved win and another three points.

Next Saturday sees the Amateurs again on their travels - this time to League leaders Rockview from Newry..
